What is Rest in Motion?

Rest in Motion is a residential somatic movement and dance program that brings together Body-Mind Centering®, movement improvisation, experiential anatomy, and artistic practices.

Rooted in embodied awareness, this immersive experience invites you into a space where activity and rest soften their boundaries and begin to dissolve into one another, shaping ways of being present, relating, and finding support within the body and in connection with others.

Ηeld within a supportive group field and shared living environment in the wild, remote landscape of Paleohori, the experience unfolds as a continuous process of sensing, moving, and relating—with yourself, others, and the surrounding landscape.

Discover the two cycles:

→ Explore Cycle 1 (Somatic Art Practice®)

→ Explore Cycle 2 (Embodying developmental memories)

*update: Cycle 2 is fully booked at the moment.

Practices and explorations

• Somatic perception and awareness of movement—on land and in water

• Experiential anatomy: nervous system, fluids, and embryological development

• Ontogenetic and phylogenetic aspects of developmental movement

• Somatic listening, deep perception, and sensitive movement

• Dance improvisation, relation, and embodied expression

• Integration of movement with artistic practices (drawing, writing, visual media)

• Movement in relation to others, space, and the natural environment

• Heart Circles and shared group process

The Program

The program unfolds over two consecutive cycles, designed as one continuous experience.

You may join one cycle or the full program.

1st Cycle | August 11 – 18, 2026

Somatic Art Practice® with Marina Tsartsara

Marina Tsartsara introduces her Somatic Art Practice® (SAP®), an interdisciplinary approach that weaves together somatic inquiry and artistic creation.

Focusing on fascia and the relationship between rest and activity, this cycle explores:

• support, elasticity, and responsiveness in the body

• how movement emerges through connection

• how perception and expression are shaped somatically

Participants are invited into a space where movement, drawing, and sensing intertwine, opening new pathways of awareness and creativity.

→ Explore Cycle 1

Short break: August 18–19

2nd Cycle | August 19 – 26, 2026

Embodying Developmental Memories – a marine workshop with Eleonora Parello

Eleonora Parello invites participants into a site-specific journey between land and sea.

Inspired by Body-Mind Centering®, this cycle explores:

• fluidity and early movement patterns

• the body’s relationship with water

• sensory awareness and embodied memory

Through gentle guidance, participants engage in a process of listening, sensing, and playing, discovering new ways of moving and relating — within themselves, the group, and the living marine environment.

→ Explore Cycle 2

Together

The two cycles offer complementary pathways into:

fluid support, embodied presence, and the dynamic interplay between rest and movement
