Thank you Giorgos & Kyveli to make this week possible, to make this place existing. It is such a beautiful place and project and so important. I’m really happy we could share our work here with all these wonderful people and feel the RESONANCE and dive in the REFLECTION, and carry the food together, and dance together, take care of each other, meet each other, thinking new pathways… I hope to come back soon and be part of this and how it expands, with so much love and commitment!  See you soon!

Paleohori is a magical place and it is because of all the hard work and love you both brought together. I feel the kindness spread all around and even in the hidden corners of the whole space. I don’t remember the last time I felt so abundant. The people and the place are the secret ingredient for all the beauty I see here. I am taking so many memories, I cherish forever, from my stay here. Thank you for initiating this beautiful journeyI could be a part of, although for a very short duration. The richness of the experience is worth a lifetime. I am taking a lot of love from here. Thanks for making all this possible for me & I will miss you. You both are amazing people! Love, 

Παλαιοχώρι = Ελπίδα! 

Αυτό είναι που νιώθω κάθε φορά που βρίσκομαι εδώ, αυτή η ζεστή κοινότητα. Είναι ευλογία να υπάρχει στις μέρες μας ένας ανθρώπινος πυρήνας, ένας χώρος στη φύση, που να αγκαλιάζει την ανθρώπινη ύπαρξη, τόσο τρυφερά με σεβασμό και αγάπη. 

Η καρδιά μου χαίρεται, συγκινείται και ανοίγει, μαλακώνει και ξεκουράζεται εδώ. Τα εργαστήρια μου θυμίζουν στην πραγματικότητα συνάντηση ενός παλιού χωριού. Ο κάθε ένας έρχεται με την ιερή περιέργεια να ανακαλύψει αυτό που έχει ξεχαστεί κάπου σκορπισμένο και ο ένας βοηθά τον άλλο να ανακαλύψει τον θησαυρό του. Στο τέλος φεύγουμε όλοι πολύ πλούσιοι! 

Οραματισμός – Διαίσθηση – Δοτικότητα – Επιμονή – Φυσιολατρεία – Υπέροχο φαγητό – Κοινότητα – Οπτικοακουστική πανδαισία – Τρυφερότητα – Αποδοχή – Χιούμορ – Μυρωδιές – Συνειρμοί – Βαθιά χαλάρωση και εκατοντάδες άλλες λέξεις που έγιναν βίωμα και τις μοιραστήκαμε μέσα σε μία μόλις εβδομάδα… σαν στο σπίτι μου, όπου γης και πατρίς και αυτή η γη είναι ζυμωμένη με απεριόριστη αγάπη και αισθάνομαι τυχερή που την πάτησα. Αισθάνομαι ευγνωμοσύνη και ελπίδα και θέλω να σας ευχηθώ ό,τι καλύτερο για το μέλλον αυτού του project, αυτής της πανέμορφης γειωμένης σας πρωτοβουλίας. Οι δρόμοι μας θα ξανασυναντηθούν και το ξέρουμε. Ως τότε have fun. Εις το επανιδείν.

Thank you Kyveli & Giorgos, thank you, thank you for creating this magical place in the middle of wilderness. I was actually longing for a long time to be able to dance surrounded by such pure and beautiful nature! I appreciated it so much! And of course…but I think I told you already in person… thank you for being you! Both of you! It’s really beautiful to witness what beautiful gifts you are bringing into this world, through being you. See you soon! 

I can’t put into words how much it means to me to know that there is a place that feels so safe and like home to me although it’s far away from my home. Thank you for making it possible for so many people to connect with each other, to dance, share joy, tears, smiles, gazes…. It’s amazing to make the experience that one can connect so fast and deep with people one didn’t know before.  My whole body feels nourished from all the good food, the wind and air around me, the sun, the fresh spring water, the amazing encounters I made, all the movement and fun I had. What you are making possible here will spread so much further than you think (I think). Already looking forward to seeing you again, Lots of love, 

Coming to Paleochori felt like a gift. Thank you so much for building up this place with so much love and care, for giving me the opportunity to share my practice exactly when it was meant to happen. It’s been an opening! I leave full and grateful, no words to describe all that I bring with me back home. It will stay, It’s already part of me. Gracias por todo. Much love. 

I have had a really inspiring and special time at paleochori this last week. An amazing place you have built and created with so much integrity and generosity. Thank you. The week of dance was a reward to myself for my personal journey I studied over the last year. The experience was beyond my expectations and I will take it forward with me to inform my future practice and it will support me in my coming years studying. Thank you for everything you create with commitment and courage. 

My mind is expanded and challenged. The grasshoppers have blown my mind. They eat sponges? Sonia has brought me joy, inspiration and energy. The land is absolutely magic. I await a return to witness the growth of the care and joy that will come! Thank you! 

Γιώργο και Κυβέλη, η εμπειρία ήταν πάρα πολύ αναζωογονητική. Είμαι πάρα πολύ χαρούμενη γι αυτό το ταξίδι και για όλα αυτά που έχετε φτιάξει με τα χέρια σας και το όραμα που μοιράζεστε με όλους εμάς. Ευχαριστώ για όλα, μην το βάζετε κάτω στις δύσκολες στιγμές, γιατί ότι φροντίζεις σε φροντίζει και πάντα αξίζει τον κόπο και την κούραση! Σας εύχομαι δύναμη, δημιουργικότητα και ενότητα! 

Paleohori and Unplugged Dance will forever hold a special place in my heart. Full of gratitude and grounding presence after spending the past week in such a special place with special people. This shared experience will resonate within me as I continue to move through the world. I hope to return again one day and witness how this community and experience evolves.

Dear Kyveli & Giorgos, I am thanking you from my heart for the opportunity I have received to participate in your program. I had no previous dance experience and no expectations. What I found was a welcoming environment with an inspiring program, amazing teachers and unique participants. Even though the purpose of the activities was to deepen the understanding of the body, for me personally it resulted being a wholesome experience with a surprising emotional response, leading to an advanced understanding of my mind and my emotions, next to my body. I believe, it was only possible through the dedication of all participants, professional and dedicated teachers, the lovely staff and yourselves, because what you managed to create, is a SAFE space, where people can share and explore themselves and their relationships to others and to the world. I’ve loved it and I feel that I needed it without knowing it existed. Thank you for creating it! Best luck for further development!

I visited Paleohori in July 2024 for the Movement Research and Dance Improv residency.
It was the first residency program for the project team and although some of the facilities
were still upon structure, the place was very comfortable and welcoming. It took some time
and collective effort for the place and especially the dance platform to be fully functional
but at the end of the first week, the whole team of residents, myself including, had the
privilege of moving and dancing on one of the most beautiful outside dance floors I have
ever seen in my life.
The dance floor alone might be the highlight of my experience in Paleohori. I felt deeply
moved and inspired by the openness of the space, the spectacular view and all the
different possibilities that dancing space holds for artists and movers, as well as
researchers in the field of sound, music and performance art. Practices of dance,
improvisation, somatic movement, performance and even meditation/spiritual practices or
ceremonies can blossom in a place like this. The surrounding nature in combination with
community living uplevelled the experience.
And yes, there were some rough days, some very hot days, some water supply
disturbances during my stay, but those were just parts of a life-changing month that
brought together international and diverse artists with influential work and research
projects.
Paleohori feels to me like one of the very unique places in Greece for dance and various
forms of improvisation and artistic research right now and holds a special place in my
heart. I am still grateful, inspired and immensely happy to see this place growing and
expanding.

…I would also like to say thank you to you for the organisation, the workshop, the talks, the company and the great time I had in Neohori and Paleohori. You created an amazing space there and the energy and magic of the place in Paleochori is beyond words. Thank you so much for all your work and your effort. You made it possible for all of us to meet and share this really special time. I really enjoyed both of the workshops and also the yoga every morning was so good and helpful for me. The food was amazing (thank you for so many vegan options!!). Keep up the good work and I wish you a lot of strength for all the tasks in the future.
